Healing with Nature: The Bird & The Birder
March 22 @ 9:00 am - 10:30 am
For many of us in Los Angeles, losing our homes, communal spaces, parks, trees, and all places and habitats we found refuge in has left us feeling uprooted and distressed. It is natural to feel deep grief, unease, and anxiety in the aftermath of this crisis. One way to move through and with these feelings is to practice inward reflection and to ground ourselves in our relationships with one another, the land, and the plants and animals we share it with. Join us for our Healing with Nature Event Series, where AFC’s Program Coordinator Kyle Cavazos, along with guest docents, will guide us through mindfulness exercises and practices that cultivate connections.
On Saturday, March 22nd, join Kyle for a morning at Rosemont Preserve. Let your spirit soar in a morning of meditation and bird watching, and connect with the freedom of flight from our winged friends as we practice mindful breathing, observe local birds in their natural habitat, and reflect on their movements and songs.
