Milkweed Giveaway at Arlington Garden

Join Arroyos & Foothills Conservancy for a Free Milkweed Giveaway at Arlington Gardens!
AFC is working to restore critical habitat for monarch butterflies across our region. Habitat loss, pesticide use, and climate change have driven monarch populations down by more than 95% since the 1980s. Planting native milkweed is one of the most effective ways you can help—supporting monarch reproduction and rebuilding the habitat they depend on to survive.
Milkweed will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, while supplies last. We’ll have 225, one-gallon narrowleaf milkweed plants available, with a max of 3 per person. Upon arrival, you’ll need to fill out a form with your information in order to receive milkweed.
Please note: RSVPing does not guarantee plants but ensures you’ll receive event updates and reminders. Plants are expected to go quickly, so arrive early! We will send out an alert once all plants are distributed.
Additionally, we will be joined by Ecological Educator Kristy Brauch, who will host a demonstration table featuring pollinator displays and experiential materials, and give a short talk about monarchs and milkweed at the beginning of the event.
Educational materials with planting instructions and tips for caring for your milkweed will be available at the event. To access digital copies, click here.
The giveaway will take place in the Olive Allee on the west side of the garden. Street parking is available in the surrounding area.
We’re looking for AFC Ambassadors who are excited to engage with community members and help us distribute milkweed. Please click here to sign up for a volunteer shift.
No space for milkweed? Not much of a green thumb? You can still make a difference—urge the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to protect monarch butterflies under the Endangered Species Act by signing this petition. Let’s ensure monarchs have a secure future today!
