With a generous grant from the Cornell Lab Land Trust Bird Conservation Initiative, AFC is now offering a field trip specifically focused on birds!

Experience this new curriculum on a tour of the Rosemont Preserve with Jodhan Fine, curriculum developer via Occidental College. You’ll learn more about identifying birds, how they have adapted to our climate, and the intricacies of the relationships between humans and birds.

  • Time: Saturday, January 27th, 9:00am – 10:30am
  • Location: Rosemont Preserve

You’ll want to bring binoculars and consider downloading the free Merlin bird app in advance by accessing https://merlin.allaboutbirds.org/download/ (Be sure to download Merlin’s “US: West Coast” bird information.) Parking can be found at Two Strike Park, 5107 Rosemont Avenue. To reach the Preserve, walk two blocks up Rosemont Avenue.

Directions to Rosemont Preserve

  • 210 Freeway – exit at La Crescenta Ave
  • Turn right/north on La Crescenta Ave
  • Turn right/east on Foothill Boulevard
  • Turn left/north at Rosemont Ave
  • Rosemont Preserve is at the top of Rosemont Avenue
  • Please park at Two Strike Park 5107 Rosemont Avenue (2 blocks down from Preserve)
