Glendale

Glendale is bordered by three separate coastal mountain ranges: the San Rafael Mountains to the East, the Verdugo Mountains to the West and the San Gabriels Mountains to the North.  Each of these ranges provides critical habitat for native wildlife, however development threatens to cut off existing passageways wildlife can use to travel safely from one of these islands of open space to another. These animals need to move between areas of natural habitat, to and from the surrounding mountains, to mix and mate with the wider population of their species and to hunt and forage in larger landscapes.

AFC is working to preserve and enhance these passageways to provide all flora and fauna a way to disperse and enhance biodiversity.
