Altadena Heritage named Old Marengo Park an Altadena Heritage Area at a ceremony today. Thanks to everyone who came out!  Completed in 2007 by the Arroyos & Foothills Conservancy and its partners, the all-native plant park serves as a demonstration of water-wise gardening techniques. The park is now one of six designated Altadena Heritage Areas.”It’s a small park, but it makes a big impact on the area,” said John Howell, AFC’s executive director.  “We hope people will enjoy seeing how native plants can be used wonderfully in our gardens, and get ideas about capturing and saving water.”

To see the park for yourself, head on up to the intersection of Marengo Avenue and Woodbury Road in Altadena.  For more information, see our news release on the park’s dedication.
